The idea is that you deliver the desired answer before the end of the elevator ride, that is, in less than 30 seconds. At that point, you want to achieve maximum impact and, hopefully, generate an answer, such as the person asking the question asking you for your business card, requesting a follow-up call, or having more information sent to you. The purpose of the elevator pitch is to succinctly communicate key information and achieve the desired effect. In a larger context, your presentation speech provides an essential tool in sales situations, such as trade fairs, conversations with investors and networking events.
